Dr. Vasilis Triantafillou, Professor, President of Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece 


Vasilis Triantafillou has a Diploma and PhD in Computer Engineering and Informatics, University of Patras. Ηe is Professor and President of Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece. He has served as researcher at the University of Patras and Institute of Computer Science, he was Director of the Research Unit 6/CTI and scientific responsible of NOC of TEI Western Greece. His research interests include the design and analysis of routing algorithms, design and development of distance learning systems, with issues e-democracy and sensor networks. He has been project leader in 20 research projects and has published more than 55 scientific articles in international journals and conferences and has authored two book chapters. His research has been more than 45 reports. He participated in four conferences.

 Dr. Michael Paraskevas, Associate Professor at the Informatics Engineering Department of Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece

Dr. Paraskevas received an electrical engineering degree from the University of Patras, Greece (1989). In 1995 he received the PhD degree in audio compression techniques using perceptual model of human hearing. His current research interests are in digital signal processing techniques, signal theory, analogue and digital communications, next generation networks and e-government services, as well as in the exploiting the ICTs in the education. He has published more than 50 papers in international journals and conferences, has authored two books and 2 book chapters, he has participated in more than 40 committees of international journals and conferences and his published work has collected more than 330 citations and has been reported in 47 patents. He teaches the courses of Signal and Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Analogue Communications, Digital Communications, Information Society at the undergraduate program ( as also as Digital Communications systems and DSP and Hardware Design courses at postraduate programm of Technologies and Infrastructures for Broadband Applications and Services ( He has extensive professional experience on issues regarding planning and implementation of large scale network infrastructures, electronic services and exploitation of ICTs in education and manages a large number of corresponding development projects. In implementation of these projects, Dr Paraskevas have dealt extensively with issues of public supply contracts. He is the Director of the Directorate of Greek School Network ( at Computer Technology Institute and Press “Diophantus” ( He is also a consultant teacher of the Hellenic Open University ( as well as the Electronic and Computer Engineer Department of the University of Patras ( (2002-2008). He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, IEEE and the Audio Engineering Society.

 Dr. Sotiris P. Christodoulou, Lecturer at the Informatics Engineering Department of Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece


Dr. Sotiris P. Christodoulou earned his PhD on Web Engineering in 2004, from Computer Engineering and Informatics Dept of University of Patras, Greece. His is currently Lecturer at Computer & Informatics Engineering Dept. in Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece. His recent research interests include: web engineering, performance optimization of mobile web applications, hypermedia, Web 2.0 technologies, web code quality and semantic web. His research publications include more than 30 international journals, book chapters and conferences with reviewers, with over 200 non-self citations. Since 1994 he has served as a Senior Researcher, R&D Projects Manager & Technical Director at High Performance Information Systems Lab (Computer Engineering & Informatics Dept - University of Patras), and he has participated in numerous Greek and European R&D projects in the fields of web engineering, hypermedia applications modelling /management, 3D and cultural applications, etc. Most projects combined applied research and development, emphasizing on (a) applying cutting-edge technologies to real-world problems and Information Systems of large-scale organizations and (b) providing scalable and portable solutions, with innovation that goes beyond the typical requirements of the funding organizations. Dr. Christodoulou is ACM and IEEE professional member and he has participated in more than 15 committees of international journals and conferences. Since 2004 he has taught numerous courses at post-graduate and undergraduate level.

George AsimakopoulosLecturer at the Informatics Engineering Department of Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece 


George Asimakopoulos received a Computer Science Degree from the University of Crete, Greece in 1997. He received a Masters degree in Techno-economical systems in 2003. He has Professional experience extends from 1999 to today in both private sector enterprises and educational and research foundations in the areas of software development, project management, knowledge management, e-learning, e-government, information security polices, Business models, Proposal authoring and Contract authoring. His current research interests involve the internet of things, ambient sensing, dynamic vehicle routing applications and digital forensics. He has presented 12 announces in IT related conferences some of which have been included in conference publications. He has participated in the authoring of three IT related academic books. He teaches Digital Forensics, Functional Programming, Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures, Data Bases, Operating Systems and New Economy.
