 Dr Dimitris Ampeliotis, Scientific / Laboratory Assistant of the TEI of Western Greece

Dr Dimitris Ampeliotis is currently a Scientific / Laboratory Assistant of the TEI of Western Greece and a Researcher at the University of Patras. He received the Diploma degree in computer engineering and informatics, the M.Sc. degree in signal processing, and the Ph.D. degree in signal processing and communications, all from the University of Patras, Greece, in 2002, 2004 and 2009, respectively. He has worked for several years as an adjunct faculty at the TEI of Western Greece and the University of Patras. Also, Dr Ampeliotis has worked in several European and National research projects. His research interests include distributed algorithms for estimation problems, source localization, dictionary learning methods, cooperative game theory, turbo equalization, blind source separation, sensor networks, signal processing for communications and medical image processing. Dr. Ampeliotis is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, a member of EURASIP and a member of the IEEE.

Dr. Ilias Asaridis, Scientific / Laboratory Assistant of the TEI of Western Greece

 

 

Dr. Ilias Asaridis is Laboratory Collaborator in the department of TESYD of the TEI of Mesologgi since 2007. Born in Katerini in 1977, Ilias Asaridis graduated from the General Lyceum of Katerini in 1995. In 2000, he obtained the Degree in Physics from the corresponding department of the University of Ioannina. In 2005, he obtained his Ph.D. from the Physics Department of the University of Ioannina, where he was a scholar. His field of research includes research in the field of the magnetic, electron and optical properties of materials. Well experienced in the field of X-rays, VSM measurements and the Mössbauer spectra analysis. He was the technical manager of the Computer, Engineering and Materials Science Laboratories of the Physics Department of the University of Ioannina. At the  TEI of Western Greece he has been working as a Scientific / Laboratory Assistant since 2007, where he has taught the following courses: Logic Design, Electronics, Physics, Mobile Networks, Wireless Satellite Communications and Optical Networks. He has 6 papers in various well-known referred conferences and journals.

Dr. Vasileios Gkamas, Senior Researcher at Computer Technology Institute and Press - "Diofantus" 

Dr. Vasileios Gkamas obtained his Diploma of Information and Communication Systems Engineer from University of Aegean, Greece, in 2004 and his MSc on Integrated Hardware and Software Systems and PhD on Computer Science from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics, University of Patras, in 2006 and 2015 respectively. Since 2006, he is with the Greek School Network and Networking Technologies Directorate of Computer Technology Institute and Press “Diophantus” participating in numerous National and European projects at the area of large-scale high-speed networks, educational e-services and e-infrastructures. For the period 2007-2011 and 2014 he was also with the Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece, as a laboratory associate teaching various lessons related to Information and Communication Technologies. His research interests are in the areas of algorithms and protocols for optical networks, wireless networks and grid systems. He has published 13 papers in various well-known refereed books, international conferences and journals.

Dr Iosif Mporas, Senior Lecturer in Information Engineering, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom

Dr Iosif Mporas is a Senior Lecturer in Information Engineering at the University of Hertfordshire since Feb 2016. He received the Diploma degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and the PhD degree in signal processing from the University of Patras, Greece, in 2004 and 2009, respectively. From 2010 up to Feb 2016 he was an Adjunct Assist. Prof. at the TEI of Western Greece. He has participated as Senior Researcher in more than 10 FP6, FP7, Life+ and H2020 European R&D Projects in the areas of speech and audio processing, spoken and multi-modal human-machine interaction, ICT-based biodiversity monitoring, brain and biomedical signal analysis, healthcare monitoring. His research interests include statistical signal modeling, speech and audio processing, natural language processing, brain and biosignal data processing, data mining and machine learning. He is author and co-author in more than 80 journal and international conference articles.

 Dr. Isidoros Perikos, Scientific/Laboratory Assistant of the TEI of Western Greece

Dr. Isidoros Perikos received his Diploma of Computer Engineer in 2008 and his MSc and PhD on Computer Science from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics, University of Patras, in 2010 and 2016 respectively. His main research interests include artificial intelligence, e-Learning and integration of ICT in education, data mining and knowledge extraction, 3D virtual worlds and virtual reality, natural language processing and affective computing. He has published over 50 papers in international conferences, journals and workshops. In 2012 he joined the Greek School Network and Networking Technologies Directorate at the Computer Technology Institute and Press “Diophantus”, primary working for the design of innovative e-learning systems. He has participated in several National and European R&D projects. He is a member of IEEE, ACM, Hellenic Artificial Intelligence society and Technical Chamber of Greece.

Vasilios D. Tsakanikas, Laboratory Assistant of the TEI of Western Greece

Vasilios D. Tsakanikas was born on the 1st of January of 1983 in Agrinio, Greece. He graduated from the 1st High School of Agrinio in 2000. He received the Diploma Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2005 from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece. In his thesis, he performed an analysis of the established link between terminal mobile communication devices and users’ heads, utilizing the F.D.T.D. (Finite Difference Time Domain) numerical method. He received a M.Sc. in computer science from the Athens University of Economics and Business, Department of Informatics, Greece in 2007. Vasilis has authored and co-authored several scientific articles, many of which have been presented in International conferences. He has taught various scientific topics, from Telecommunication schemes to network simulation and network programming.

Vasilis has worked as software engineer and as technical manager in several European projects like ARTreat (FP7-224297), POCEMON (FP7-ICT-2007-216088) and NEOMARK (FP7-2007-2.5.3-ICT-224483).

Dr. Thomas Zarouchas, Senior Researcher at Computer Technology Institute and Press - "Diofantus" 

 

Dr. Thomas Zarouchas was born in Drama, Greece in 1977. He graduated from the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Patras in 2002.  He then joined the Audio and Acoustic Technology Group as a researcher in 2002, completing his doctoral dissertation in 2010. His main research interests are in the area of digital signal processing for audio applications, psychoacoustics, room acoustics, e-learning services and educational technologies. He has authored and presented his research work in scientific journals and international conferences. He is the co-author of two textbooks for the Master Course “Acoustic Design and Multimedia” of the Hellenic Open University. He has also participated in several international and national projects in the area of digital audio technology. Since 2010, he has been collaborating with the Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece, as an adjoint assistant professor in the Department of Informatics and Mass Media and the Department of Computer and Informatics Engineering. In 2012 he joined the Greek School Network and Networking Technologies Directorate at the Computer Technology Institute and Press “Diophantus”, primary working for the design of innovative e-learning information systems. Dr. Zarouchas Thomas is a member of the IEEE, the Hellenic Institute of Acoustics and the Technical Chamber of Greece.
